D. Giribaldi / PromPerú
A privileged destination at your fingertips. Heir to ancient cultures and a rich colonial tradition, Perú is a magical spot which involves one of the richest biodiversities of Earth, and is a melting pot of different cultures who together are forging the promise of a better future. Also, Peru has an important hotel infrastructure and accessibility by air and land.
Metropolitan Lima.
In almost five centuries passed from its Spanish foundation, Lima has been synonymous of a surprising miscegenation that visualizes in its polished and innovative culinary art, in his monumental architecture, that engrosa the Cultural Patrimony of the Humanity from 1991; and in its people, crafty and capable, really expert at adapting to the changes.

Cusco City
Inca walls, colorful costumes, churches built on top of palaces, citadels lost in the Andean heights, legendary roads -all the beauty of a glorious past that enfolds the visitor who arrives in Cuzco.
Cusco, capital of the Inca Empire.
Nestling in the southeastern Andes, the city of Cuzco is Peru's premier tourist attractions and one of the main destinations in the Americas. Angels of Cuzco. In Cuzco, the Madonnas sport rosy cheeks like Andean matrons, while the angels are clad in gold and wear Flandes-style hats.
Andahuaylillas Churchs.
If Michael Angel had worn a poncho and the Andean chullo cap, he would have undoubtedly signed his works on the walls of the church of Andahuaylillas.

Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Located in the department of Cuzco, the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is Peru's most popular trekking route and possibly one of the most spectacular walks in the Americas. It forms part of the more than 23,000 km of roads built by the Incas across South America. Each year, some 25,000 hikers from all over the world walk the 43 km stone-paved trail, built by the Incas to get to the impregnable citadel of Machu Picchu, deep in the Cuzco cloud forest.

The trail sets out from Qorihuayrachina, at Kilometer 88 of the Cuzco-Quillabamba railway, and takes three to four days of tough hiking. The route runs through an impressive range of altitudes, where climates and eco-systems range from the high Andean plain down to the cloud forests. The trail climbs up through two highland passes (the higher of the two, Warmiwañuska, lies at 4,200 masl) before reaching Machu Picchu through the Inti Punku or Gateway of the Sun. One of the attractions of the trail is that it winds past carved granite Inca settlements (Wiñay Wayna, Phuyupatamarca), and is surrounded by breath-taking natural scenery. The forests abound in hundreds of species of orchids, brightly-colored birds and dream-like landscapes, the ideal complement to this indispensable hikers' route.

Four days hiking the Inca trail to Machupicchu
(Incas´ Royal Road to Machu Picchu), the lost city of the Incas
At dawn on the fourth day we pass through the Intipunku, the dramatic ridgetop "Gateway to the Sun." The first glimpse of Machu Picchu is a stunning, dramatic overview of one of the world's greatest cultural treasures.
Numerous other Inca cities, now argueological complexes, along the route help us understand Macchu Picchu in the economic, social, and military context it had for its citizens. We pass among wheat-colored high mountains, under stunning Mount Salkantay and her glaciers, and through the richly diverse forests in the interstitial niches between jungle and highland.
Hiking the Inca trail to Machupicchu (Machu Picchu), The lost city of the Incas
Itinerary
Day 1 - Cusco to Km. 82
At six in the morning, we pick up our passengers at their hotels and travel, by bus, to Chilca where we will pick up the porters and the cook. Then, we will travel to km. 82, the start of the Inca Trail. We start our trek escorted by native ´´quechua'' porters going through semi-arid terrain along the Urubamba river with magnificent views of snow capped mount Veronica (5,682 m alt.). We walk past the Inca Hamlet of Huayllabamba, arriving to camp at Huayllabamba, an ancient Inca citadel that protected the entry to two valleys.
Day 2 - Pacamayo
We will begin to climb the first pass, Warmiwañusca (4,200 m. alt.), where there is a spectacular view of the valley below. At this pass we move from the dry puna ecology to elf forest, the highest of the tropical forest types where gnarled trees grow to two meters amid fog and low clouds, habitat for a profusion of orchids and strange animals. On this night, we will camp along river Pacamayo at the bottom of pass.
Day 3 - Wiñayhuayna
After breakfast, we will hike towards Runku Rakay and traverse the second pass of the same name (3, 800 m. alt.). We will descend to Sayaçmarca, an important archaeological complex, where we will have lunch. We will spend the third and final night near the ruins of Wiñayhuayna, which means ¨City above the Clouds.¨
Day 4 Machu Picchu
We will arise very early so that we may watch the sunrise from Inti Punku and have our first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu. We will spend one to two hours in Machu Picchu, where the guide will explain the significance of important sites within the Lost City of the Incas. In the afternoon, we will take the train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco, arriving at 20:30 approximately.
Note: There is the option of relaxing in the hot springs in Aguas Calientes.
