INDIGENOUS
MARKET PLACE OF ZUMBAHUA AND
THE CRATER OF THE VOLCANO QUILOTOA
DURATION
: 2 DAYS
DEPARTURE: FRIDAY
RETURN : SATURDAY
DAY 1.- Friday. The tour starts at 10:00 a.m. traveling along
the Panamericana Freeway South, passing through the cities of Latacunga, Pujili,
and later Zumbahua. We will arrive to the crater Lake of Quilotoa (3910 Meters)
which we will descend through a path that is transited by shepherds with their
lambs and llamas. We will spend the night in the interior of the crater of
the active volcano Quilotoa.
- Lunch in the city of Latacunga
- Dinner in camp in the interior of the crater
DAY 2.- Saturday. After breakfast we will ascend from the
interior of the crater, and travel to the community of Zumbahua. We will observe
and participate in an authentic indigenous fair that is very colorful, has
a variety of products, and typical workmanship of the area. In the afternoon
after lunch we return to Quito.
SUGGESTIONS:
- We ask you to be prudent with the indigenous people of the area because
they are zealous
of their customs
- You can bath in lagoon, depending on the conditions of the volcano, and
the natives in the area.
- It is recommended that you take a camera with you.
- If you want to take with or of the indigenous people of the area we ask
that you give them a small donation to their modest lifestyle.

TREKKING
DURATION:
7 DAYS
DEPARTURE: AT THE REQUEST OF THE TOURIST
RETURN: IN THE AFTERNOON OF THE SEVENTH DAY
DAY 1.- We leave Quito through the Interoceanica highway
passing through the towns of Cumbaya and Tumbaco. We will take the road that
goes to Papallactaa. Before we get to the town, we will deviate from the road
and we will leave the car. We'll trek along the plateaus of the mountains
at a height between 3400 and 4200 meters where we make our first camp at the
foot of the volcanic lagoon.

DAY 2.- In the morning we will continue in the direction
of the Antisana mountain. On this day we will have the opportunity to pass
by some cliffs that we can observe Andean Condors in their natural habitat.
After six (6) hours of trekking we make our second camp.

DAY 3.- In the morning we will leave camp and we will follow
the plateau of the volcano Antisana toward the lagoon of Micacocha. All the
time we will observe the magnificent splendor of the volcano Antisana. We
will make camp at the foot of a small mountain next the Artisana.

DAY 4.- After breakfast in the morning we will leave toward
the plateau of the mountain Sincholagua. Here we can observe several wild
rabbits, birds, raccoons, deer, and wolves. With some little luck we probably
could see all these animals. We will make camp near the mountain of Sincholagua.

DAY 5.- Passing through the base of the mountain Sincholagua
we will enter the National Park of Cotopaxi. It is the largest active volcano
in the world. On this day we will entertain by trekking along this very picturesque
valley and we will make our fifth camp in the National Park.

DAY 6.- We will travel throughout the National Park of Cotopaxi,
then along the volcano Rumiñahui admiring unusual landscapes of the
mountains, lagoons and volcanos. We will trek at an altitude between 3,000
and 4,000 meters.

DAY 7.- In the morning we will be picked up by our transportation
and we will tour the recreational area of El Boliche and then go on returning
to Quito.

INDICATIONS:
- The daily journeys are for approximately six (6) hours.
- The average altitude that we will trek is 3,800 meters.
- During the trekking we will encounter marsh lands and very cold plateaus.
- Our recommendation is that you bring a large dose of
enthusiasm for the duration of the seven days of trekking.
- We suggest that you a camera and fishing gear.

AROUND
THE VOLCANO COTOPAXI
DURATION:
5 DAYS
DEPARTURE: AT THE REQUEST OF THE TOURIST
RETURN: IN THE AFTERNOON OF THE FIFTH DAY
DAY 1.- Leaving Quito we will travel along the Panamericana
Freeway South until we reach the town of Lasso, later we will continue to
the town of Mulalo. To continue to Rancho Maria where our transportation will
drop us off. From here we trek our way to Morurco, a rocky peak at 4700 meters,
where we will make our first camp.

DAY 2.- In the morning we will follow our course advancing
toward the eastern part of the Cotopaxi, we will be trekking at an altitude
of 4900 meters, exactly under the great lagoons and glaciers of the volcano.
We will camp out in the sector of Valle Vicioso, the faces the volcano Quilindaña.

DAY 3.- Continuing our course, we will pass through large
and small hills, which are cone shaped parasites of the volcano. We will also
go through a sector with small lagoons where we can observe Andean ducks,
mountain gulls, and other birds and animals that are in their natural habitat
in the high mountains.

DAY 4.- In the morning we will continue our course and on this day we will
get to a great flatland of Linpiopungo. The plateau is located between the
Cotopaxi and Rumiñahui mountains at an altitude of 3800 meters. We
will make camp in this plateau.

DAY 5.- On this day we will continue our course through the forest of the
Pine Trees of the Cotopaxi, and then our transportation will pick us up to
return to Quito.

INDICATIONS:
- The daily journeys will be for approximately six (6) hours.
- The average altitude that we will be trekking is 3800 meters.
- The course we will take is the most spectacular in the Ecuadorian Sierra.
It will be 5 days of intense emotions through the virgin plateaus and being
accompanied by the always vigilant Cotopaxi that is 5897 meters! It the world's
largest active volcano.

THE ALTAR
DURATION:
4 DAYS
DEPARTURE: AT THE REQUEST OF THE TOURIST
RETURN: IN THE AFTERNOON OF THE FOURTH DAY
DAY 1.- We will leave Quito along the Panamericana Freeway
South toward the city of Latacunga, we will pass through Ambato, and go in
the direction of Riobamba. We will later pass through the cities of Penipe,
Candelaria, and Releche that is a ranch where our transportation will drop
us off and we will make camp.

DAY 2.- In the morning while our equipment travels by mule
toward the beach on the Coyanes River where we will make our second camp.
We will have the opportunity to take pictures all along our trek of birds,
plants, animals and the breath taking views we will see.

DAY 3.- In the morning we will leave our camp toward the
great caldera of Alter and we can admire from the interior the impressive
walls made of rock and ice. We will travel through the interior of the caldera,
visiting the lagoon of Mandur and the return to pass the night in our camp.
This is a day that there is an excellent chance to take pictures of birds
like the Condor, incredible landscapes, inaccessible hanging glaciers, perpendicular
rock walls, and lagoons with depths that fathomless.

DAY 4.- In the morning we will return to the ranch Releche
for the return to Quito.

journeys will be for approximately six (6) hours.
- The average altitude that we will travel in is 3200 meters.
- We recommend you take a camera.
- The lagoons from this sector are not appropriate for fishing.

AROUND
THE VOLCANO CHIMBORAZO
DURATION:
5 DAYS
DEPARTURE: AT THE REQUEST OF THE TOURIST
RETURN: IN THE AFTERNOON OF THE FIFTH DAY
DAY 1.- We will leave Quito along the Panamericana Freeway
South all the way to Ambato, where we will have lunch. Later we will continue
on the road via Ambato-Riobamba, until we reach a place named Urbina where
we will camp out.
- Lunch in the city of Ambato

DAY 2.- With our equipment on mules we will enter the plateaus
of the high mountains. We will travel along an area that has many lakes and
then continue through the valley of Abraspungo that divides two gigantic mountains
the Chimborazo and the Carihuariazo. We will make our second camp in this
area.

DAY 3.- Following our itinerary we will advance to the area
called "the red ravine," where we make our next camp.

DAY 4.- In the morning we will continue on our course ascending
through sandy and rocky ground. Until we reach the Edward Whimper refuge at
an altitude of 5,000 meters, this is where we will pass the night.

DAY 5.- On this day we will determine where our transportation
will pick us up for the trip back to Quito, which we will arrive sometime
in the afternoon.

- In this tour we will pass through areas that very cold and damp.

THE
PROTECTED FOREST OF PASOCHOA
DURATION:
2 DAYS
DEPARTURE: AT THE REQUEST OF THE TOURIST
DAY 1.- We leave Quito in the morning and we will take highway
to the valley of the Chillos, at the altitude of Amaguaña we make a
diversion and we ascend on a secondary road (in good condition) for around
45 minutes until we get to the entrance to the protected forest Pasochoa.
It's ecological and fauna reserve. Depending on the paths we take you can
admire a primary forest (that is a forest that has not been touched by man),
a secondary forest, in its natural state with a tremendous quantity of wild
birds, which is a magnificent opportunity for those who like to bird watch
and take pictures.

DAY 2.- We will have breakfast at 6:00 a.m., later will take
a hike for approximately six or seven hours to the summit of a mountain where
we can observe the whole primary and secondary forest that surround the area.
After a small lunch we will return to the camp where our transportation will
bring us back to Quito.
INDICATIONS:
- We strongly recommend a camera to take pictures.
- This tour is very enjoyable, easy, and is suitable for people of any age.
- The average altitude of the course we will travel is 3,000 meters.
THE ANCIENT ROAD OF THE INCAS
DURATION:
4 DAYS
DEPARTURE: AT THE REQUEST OF THE TOURIST
DAY 1.- After breakfast in the morning we will begin traveling
along the Panamericana Freeway outh and we will be able to observe the snow
capped mountains of the Ilinizas, and the Cotopaxi, to pass through the cities
of Latacunga, and Ambato. We will then go on to Riobamba, on the road we can
observe the volcanos of Chimborazo, Tungurahua, and the Altar. From there
we will continue to the town of Achupallas where we will spend the night in
camp.
- Lunch in the city of Riobamba.
- Dinner in camp.
DAY 2.- After breakfast, we will leave the small town of
Achupallas where we will begin our trekking that will bring us to Ingapirca
through the "ancient road of the Incas". With our equipment on mules
we will get to get to the town dominated as Three Crosses where we will spend
the night in our next camp.

- Dinner in camp.
DAY 3.- Early in the morning, we will leave our camp and
begin our trek along the beautiful breathtaking plateaus' andinos. Until we
reach an altitude 4,700 meters, where we can observe the lagoon of Culebrillas,
and where we will make our next camp. We will arrive here in the afternoon
after having appreciated an enriching trek.

DAY 4.- After breakfast we will leave camp to continue our
trek in which we will be able observe picturesque landscapes and walk through
pieces of land that are harvested by products that grown at high altitude.
On this day we will reach and visit the ancient ruins of Ingapirca. We will
take a vehicle to the city of Cuenca where we will pass the night in a three
star hotel.
